Air Asia is coming!!!

格安航空会社（ＬＣＣ）でアジア最大手のエアアジアは、年内に羽田空港に乗り入れる方針を固めた。マレーシアの首都クアラルンプールを結ぶ路線で、まずは週３便を運航する見通し。ＬＣＣが羽田に就航するのは初めて。有力ＬＣＣの羽田就航は、内外の航空会社の価格競争をさらに促す可能性がある。

The biggest company in LCC, Air Asia, is confirmed to land in Haneda Airport in this year. Connecting the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Air Asia is planned to start with 3 flights per week in the beginning. This is the first time that an LCC is using Haneda Airport. As strong LCC flying in Haneda, it is belived that it can promote the price competition between the local and foreign airline companies.

　就航するのは、傘下会社のエアアジアＸ。同社の首脳が２１日、東京都内で記者会見を開き、就航時の価格を含む詳しい計画を発表する予定だ。

The airline which is flying into Haneda is the Air Asia X, a subsidiary of Air Asia. The leader of the company will be coming to Tokyo for a press conference, which will announce the details of the route, including the price of the flight.

　今のシーズンの全日本空輸や日本航空の成田—クアラルンプールの正規割引運賃は、最も安い価格帯で往復６万〜７万円程度。これに対し、エアアジア関係者は「今までにない事業モデルを日本路線に取り込みたい」と話しており、半額を下回る運賃を打ち出す可能性がある。

The normal rate of the Narita-Kuala Lumpur flight, by All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Japanese Airlines (JAL), takes 60000-70000yen for its minimum price, in this season. Regarding this matter, the person-in-charge said that "We want to be a business model which never existed before," there is a probability that the price of the flight might go lower than half of the price mentioned above.

　エアアジアは日本就航で、来日経験のないアジアの旅行客をつかむと同時に、日本からの旅行客をマレーシア経由で海外に運ぶ需要も開拓する狙いだ。３月に開港した茨城空港への乗り入れを検討した経緯があり、今後、羽田以外にも就航するとみられる。

The purposes of flying Air Asia to Japan are, attracting the Asian tourists, which do have any experience of travelling in Japan, while at the same time, aim at bringing more tourists to overseas, via Malaysia. At first, they considered to fly into Ibaraki Airport, but soon, they will be flying to other airports, other than Haneda.

　一方、来月に第４滑走路のオープンを控える羽田は、国際拠点（ハブ）空港化を目指している。マレーシアの航空会社は週７便運航できる枠を持ち、大手のマレーシア航空が１１月１６日からマレーシアのリゾート地・コタキナバルを結ぶ路線で週３便運航することがすでに決まっている。

On the other hand, planning to open its fourth runway, Haneda is aiming to be the international hub for the airlines. The airline companies in Malaysia have the rights of 7 flights per week. The major airline company in Malaysia, Malaysian Airlines (MAS) is decided to fly to the holiday resort of Malaysia, Kota Kinabalu from November 16th, 3 times a week.
