One-Way Ticket of Haneda-Kuala Lumpur Costs Only 5000yen! Air Asia X will fly in December this year!

格安航空：羽田－クアラルンプール片道５０００円も　エアアジアＸ、１２月に日本就航

　マレーシアのローコストキャリア（ＬＣＣ）、エアアジアＸが２１日、東京都内のホテルで会見を開き、１２月９日からの羽田－クアラルンプールの就航を発表した。同航空の日本就航は初めて。就航開始を記念して、羽田発のクアラルンプール便を片道５０００円で提供する。エアアジアのウェブサイトと掲載サイトからの予約限定で、対象期間は１２月９日～２０１１年７月３１日。

The low cost carrier (LCC) of Malaysia, Air Asia X had its press conference in a hotel in Tokyo, announcing that it will start its Haneda-Kuala Lumpur line starting from 9 December 2010. This will also be the first time the airline company starts to fly into Japan. To commemorate the launching of its flight to Japan, Air Asia X is providing 5000yen for its HND-KUL flight, which departs from Haneda International Airport, for 5000yen. The booking is only available on the website of Air Asia, and the available period is from 9 December 2010 to 31 July 2011.

　羽田－クアラルンプール便の就航は火、木、日の週３便で、２３時４５分に羽田を出発し、翌日の午前６時３０分にクアラルンプールに到着する。エアアジアＸでは、早朝の到着により、クアラルンプールをハブとし、オーストラリアや英国など各地への乗り継ぎの利便性が高まるとしている。コストを抑えるため、使用機体はクアラルンプール発羽田着のものをそのまま帰路に使用し、羽田空港の滞在時間短縮をはかったほか、夜間の飛行のため、食事は希望者のみに有償で提供、荷物の預かりも課金する。

HND-KUL flights fly on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, 3 flights per week. It departs from Haneda at 23:45, and will arriving in Kuala Lumpur 06:30 the next morning. By arriving in early morning, the chance of the passengers will be able to utilize Kuala Lumpur as the hub, transiting to Australia, United Kingdom and other places, will be higher. To reduce the cost, the aeroplane which departs from Kuala Lumpur, and arriving in Haneda, will be used to fly its passengers, in its return journey. Other than measuring its staying time in Haneda Airport, since the flight is in the night, the food is only sold to those who wish to dine. They also charge for the luggage.

　また同路線には、エアバス社の新型Ａ３３０を導入、ＬＣＣでは初となるフラットシートをビジネスクラスに標準搭載した。通常価格はエコノミークラスで片道約１万～２万５０００円、プレミアシートで約４万８０００円。
In this route, Air Asia brings in the A330, the new plane from Airbus. This is the first time that the LCC integrates the business class in the flat seats. The usual proce of the economy class will be 10000-25000yen for one way, and about 48000yen for the premium seats.

　エアアジアＸでは羽田参入に関して、日本各地への国内網が完備され、乗り継ぎに便利であることを挙げ、世界的に高いといわれる空港使用料に関しても、乗客１人あたりに換算すると２５００円になり、十分にペイできるとした。

Since Air Asia flies into Haneda, and Haneda has the complete network to the other places in Japan, thus it is convenient to transit there. Regarding to the fact of the airport tax of Haneda is expensive, it is believed that the price of 2500yen per passenger is reasonable.

　エアアジアＸの最高経営責任者（ＣＥＯ）のアズラン・オスマンラニ氏は会見で、「マレーシアから日本を訪れる人は２０１０年５月時点で、前年度比４０％増となっている。エアアジアＸの就航により、この流れを促進し、若者や家族連れにさらに旅の門戸を開くことができると期待している」と話し、ＬＣＣ利用で旅の需要を喚起できるとした。

The Chief Executive Office (CEO) of Air Asia X, Azran Osman Rani said in the conference that, 'The visitors from Malaysia to Japan in May 2010 had increased by 40%. By flying into Japan, it will promote this trend. It is expected that the youngsters and families travelers will open the door to travel in Japan.' The need for traveling will be evoked by using LCC.

　エアアジアグループは、マレーシアに本社を置き、エアアジアのほか、タイエアアジアなどグループ会社４社を持つアジア最大規模のＬＣＣ。東南アジア地域で１３２路線以上のネットワークを持つ。このうち長距離路線を担当するエアアジアＸは、２００７年１月に設立され、これまでにマレーシア、中国、オーストラリア、インド、台湾、英国に就航している。

Air Asia Groups, where its headquarters locates in Malaysia, other than Air Asia, also made up by Thai Air Asia and other four companies, is the biggest LCC in Asia. It has 132 routes in South East Asia region. The Air Asia X, which serves the long-haul budget lines, was establised in January 2007. Thus far, it flies between Malaysia, China, Autralia, India Taiwan and English.
